Our Goal:
Our goal is to glorify God by being and making disciples and being obedient to His command in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Throughout the book of Acts we see church after church being planted. In fact, the purpose was not to plant new churches, but to disciple the nations, reconciling them to the Father through Jesus Christ. It is God’s heart that believers be built up in their faith, equipped for the works of service, and able to reproduce leaders for building the kingdom.
The need is great, the message is clear, the gospel is powerful, and the time is short before His return.
Objectives:
#1 To be Christ-centered – He is the One we honor
John 15:5- “I am the vine; you are the branches. Apart from me you can do nothing.”
Col. 1:18 – “And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent.”
#2 To be biblically anchored – The scriptures will guide us
Hebrews 4:12 – “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Our ultimate authority is the Word of God.
#3 To prioritize making and training up disciples
2 Timothy 2:2 – “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
#4. To communicate the gospel of Christ, as is our responsibility
Mathews 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
#5. To equip every believer towards maturity in Christ
Colossians 1:29 – “For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.”
