Cilem grew up in EBAC orphanage in Cap-Haitien, Haiti. Those developmental years taught him a lot about humility, hardship, and faith in Christ Jesus. He came to know the LORD as his savior at the age of 15. By becoming a translator for mission teams, God opened his eyes to see the need for the gospel in Haiti. Luke 10: 2 “And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” God used this verse to break his heart and from that point on, he felt the call to become a pastor. Cilem graduated from Montana Bible College with a pastoral degree in Biblical studies.
I (Harley) met this amazing man at a Bible Study group in church during one of Cilem’s school breaks, and we were married in September 2018. Second to accepting Jesus as my savior, marrying him was the best decision of my LIFE! We now have two amazing little boys and I’m a stay-at-home mommy, but am a registered nurse by trade. The Lord has recently also called me to help coordinate children’s ministries in our little church. I love watching little ones learn about Jesus!
We moved to the Cap-Haitian area of Haiti in 2020 (at a time when so many missionaries were leaving due to the unrest and COVID). It has been an incredible journey of watching God at work. We have started a church in the rural community of LaRevoir- a community that, prior to our arrival, had no churches and was all witch-doctor ruled. Our church is 15-20 minutes outside Plaine-du-Nord- the voodoo capitol of the world. God has placed us in the perfect place for huge gospel impact and change for Him!
